Having Jake back was like having everything right again. The treehouse felt right. It felt like it was supposed to, not empty and strange, a place for his anxieties to come to rest waiting day after day for his brother to come home. And now that he was here, Finn didn't want Jake out of his sight, lest that delicate return to normalcy sudden vanish. He'd only been out of sight for a few minutes last time.
So when Jake suggests that he head off to bed, Finn meets it with obvious reluctance.
"Well what about you? You must be exhausted too. I'll wait up, make sure you have everything you need." His eagerness to stay close was undercut by punctuating his declaration with a big yawn. "Do you want me to get a fire going? Or do you need more pillows?"
