The day couldn’t be more perfect for an outing to the beach. Bright, sunny, warm and punctuated with a gentle, salted breeze coming off the water. Finn thought it felt nice, even if he was missing the finer features of the day, mostly looking down at his feet while they walked. He’d even broken out the flip flops for the occasion.

Jake’s enthusiastic call to action brings him into the conversation, and he looks up, a confused look on his face. “Oh, uh…yeah. If it was dad’s rule…”

He reaches up, jumping a little to reach, and slapping the sign with his metal hand. It reverberates with a dull ringing sound. Finn smiles, turning to his brothers.

“Come on, Jermaine…you too. I wanna do it right.”
