Both dogs exchanged a look at Finn's outburst, eyes meeting overtop their little brother's folded up body. An entire conversation passed wordlessly between them in the space of a moment; Jermaine's bafflement and immediate guilt at Finn's reaction, Jake's mixture of irritation and sympathy. Jermaine could never see the signs as clearly as he could, Jake didn't blame him for that. Besides, he truly believed this breakdown was coming no matter what, but also... Well, he wished Jermaine had said it differently, that's all.
