Finn laughs, and it was like so much weight had been lifted from from his whole body. His mind felt clear, like he could think for the first time in weeks, without a constant whisper of guilt, or a reminder that he was failing at being a hero.

“You have no idea how good it feels, Jake,” He sighs happily, leaning against the tub, splashing some mostly melted ice at him. “I really thought I was gonna have to retire.”

It was easy to joke about now that it wasn’t actually a real thing he had to worry about.
