BACKTAGGING: Oh lord yes, I try to tag back quickly but I'm very flexible and open to backtagging. That said, I believe in wrapping threads/handwaving conclusions to make room for moving the CR forward!

Adventure Time has a super simplified art style so Jake looks more like a yellow orb than a dog in a lot of his icons. For the sake of RP, I'd like to avoid the mental dissonence of character's finding him completely unrecognizable. For the sake of my sanity, he looks like a weird-ass bulldog! LOL
OFF-LIMIT TOPICS: I'm easy and can't think of anything that comes to mind, but general rule of thumb: if it makes you wonder if it's okay, maybe ask first. Best judgment, we're all adults!

FIGHTING: Let's do it! How much Jake is willing to engage in a physical fight depends on his mood. If it comes to that, certain things are off the table with how his body works, but as long as there's OOC communication I'm all for it!
INJURY: Same as above. Injuring Jake is kind of complicated, but I'm all for OOCly helping you figure out the best way to do it.

Jake is capable of shrinking down real small, getting real big, and manhandling characters like it's his job. For anything beyond the boundaries of common sense touching, I'll always check in (either ICly or OOCly) before having Jake physically manipulate a character.
In addition to his usual abilities, Jake has a true form which gives him access to heightened abilities such as flight and supernatural empathy.
This ability is demonstrated by Jake tasting the emotions of toast he's eating, specifically the wheat's messed up sense of identity as it was ground up and turned into flour and then bread. I interpret this to mean that in this state, Jake is more attuned to the process of transformation in change even the mundane aspects of life.
Suffice to say, it's not mind reading! I am interested in playing with this ability as a manifestation of literally being able to sense the physical/internal changes along the lifetime of an object or person by tasting/smelling/looking at them. A vague peak into their evolving sense of self, basically.
Jake is barred from taking this form on the station and he doesn't rely on it often to begin with for Baggage Reasons, but it will almost certainly eventually happen on a mission! If you want to avoid having this be a part of our CR together, please comment to this entry or shoot me a PM!
STINK SURVEY
Jake's a dog and dogs can sniff good, that's just a fact. In canon, he not only has a heightened sense of smell but an extremely good sense memory/ability to pick out what specific smells he is smelling. Playing a dog is a weird enough prospect already, so dang it I wanna have some dumb fun with that.
Soooo...tell me what your character smells like!
Interpret this however you want to. Maybe they smell like machine oil from their robotics work, maybe flour from baking, maybe blood because they get injured a lot, maybe they just don't shower enough. I won't be godmoding any assumptions beyond common sense based on these Unique Stinks, so just have fun with it!

Stink: I am in luck! Canon tells us exactly what the Darkling smells like because Alina, the main protagonist, notices when she starts living in his rooms (ha!).
Aleksander smells like The crisp edge of a winter wind. Bare branches. The smell of absence, the smell of night.

Stink: pretty neutral tbh (non-scented soap/etc). every once in a while will smell a bit like a bonfire or sweat if he's been off training intensively, or sandalwood if he's been burning incense.
but mostly the weirdest thing would be how he tries very hard to smell like Nothing (look so many ninjas can track by scent okay it's a criminal habit)

Stink: Ade's got a distinctly non-human scent about him due to his whole "alien DNA and pheromones" shebang. Namely, his neutral scent is described as a sweet, sandalwood-like smell, whereas agitation and fear smell like citrus, annoyance like grapefruit, and anger like vinegar. So, he basically smells like either cologne or a kitchen 24/7 lol

Stink: smells like strawberries and pizza and sometimes liquor if he's been drinking. one time a boss called him stinky bc he had half-demon blood, and as an older man Dante calls out a toad boss as very smelly, so there's likely a lingering scent of like...sulfur, or brimstone, that isn't really very powerful unless he Devil Triggers, in which case I'm gonna headcanon that it is VERY noticeable along with a lava scent.

Stink: shang-chi will likely smell Clean™️ in a way that good boys with good hygiene do: it's a neutral non-scent soap and shampoo that he uses. sometimes he'll have that post-workout musk from sweat, and bro does have a decent skincare routine (normalize healthy skincare for men!!!!) so his moisturizers have a nice non-scent scent to them.
but honestly gonna steal from rhys here, bc: yeah a lot of the time he'll try not to smell like anything at all in order to ~blend in~ and go unnoticed, ex-assasin-style.

Stink: Natasha is generally clean, unscented or lightly scented soap/shampoo/etc. That said, she does workout regularly so sweat is still often in the mix. It wouldn't be entirely out of line to note she often smells a bit boozy, especially in the evening. Not excessively, but you know sometimes adults have adult coping mechanisms.

Stink: He smells faaaintly like cologne, but then the majority of his smell is things you'd find in an engineering lab. Metallic and oily, especially on the hands! He eats a lot of junk food so the occasional waft of doritos or snack cakes is terribly likely. He uses nice shampoo for his hair, it's probably like... lilac or strawberry or something unanticipated. You GOTTA take care of your hair, dude.

Stink: Like nice-smelling deodorant, maybe? She's pretty basic and just uses whatever cleaning supplies is on board, so she'll maybe smell like generic soap — and the occasional old book smell! She reads quite a lot, sometimes rereads when she's bored. She's just not as stinky as Newt. Predictably.

Stink: I'm terrible at these but I am going to go with the perfume scent Capcom made for him as inspiration and say he does smell a bit like leather. But specifically the bookish kind of leather and not the Sex Daddy kind of leather. Don't ask me to explain that OK, I'm just going off of what the perfumes tell us.
He also probably smells a bit citrusy?? I headcanon that he enjoys a good orange as a snack so his hands probably smell like those from picking off the peels. Uhhhh... What else... He drinks tea and coffee regularly so he probably smells like a random variety of that on any given day, take your pick. Sword polish maybe??? whatever that smells like? He takes good care of Karuma even though he doesn't actually fight with it.

but a better answer is probably she smells neutral for the most part, and a sort of... when close scent of fresh rain over an evergreen forest with elderflowers blossoming, more woodsy than floral. if there's any stronger scents it's because she's been exercising or riding or helped in the kitchen or has a new mysterious shampoo from the shipment of supplies, but her core scent is a clean, post-rain evergreen + elderflower sort of scent??? what is any of that like i do not know. or you know. whatever nice wet sparrow smells like. please use that one just to confound her as a description "you smell like a forest after rain, specifically a wet sparrow in a forest after rain" why

Stink: He gets regular showers now so he will usually smell clean and inoffensive. Probably uses an all-in-one body wash/shampoo with a "masculine" cologne-like scent. Often smells like coffee, he'll drink it at any time, day or night. He has been wearing the same watch for over 20 years so there is a lot of scent history coming off that wristband. Same for his canvas backpack, which he'll always have on him during missions. Other scents to pick up from the contents of his backpack: metallic (guns), alcohol, lighter fluid.

Stink: Honestly he probably just smells of whatever soap and shampoo he uses to shower, and that may vary based on what's available on the station. But in general he'd choose things that smell clean or aren't very scented at all.

Stink: First things first, her skin probably does not smell "right." It is bleached from jumping into a vat of chemicals, which happened a long time ago so the chemical scent may have faded, but she won't smell completely natural. Other scents: hair dye, makeup, neck and hand sweat (she wears a choker and fingerless gloves), shampoo/conditioner/body wash/perfume (earthy and subtle floral scents so as not to offend Ivy with the overpowering fake stuff), natural deodorant.
